A 10W laser should be fine for engraving. 6 watt, and after reading around, I guess you need like a 10 watt to do these things, but thats okay, still a fun toy for those who wants to play :) The Glowforge is a consumer laser for the home. This one is a dual diode laser with two 5 watt lasers and they list it as a 60 watt effective output.
